Paintings from the Trip

As I mentioned day 6, all my paper got lost along the route.
After that I painted on wallpaper samples procured from a paint store in Ely, Nevada.

The wallpaper provided interesting texture and an ironic reference to the inner/outer nature of computers and landscapes. Rather than my typical method of paintings landscapes indoors within the representation of a computer screen, I worked outdoors upon a substrate that is most ordinarily associated with interiors.

Painting outside provided a unique diversion for someone who spends so much time in his studio or in front of a computer. I attained a deep level of concentration and paid only minimal attention to the numerous gawkers that stopped to comment on my paintings and take pictures.
